Religion of peace strikes again

19-year old arrested on attempt of a Car Bomb at Portland Tree Lighting.
Stop. I'm already confused. Portland is just "lighting" some tree for no reason? Who is this headline writer?

Mohamed Osman Mohamud, 19, who is a naturlized U.S. citizen from Somalia and from Corvallis was arrested tonight on charges of attemping to using explosives in connection with a plot to detonate a vehicle bomb at Portland's annual Christmas Tree Lighting.

Mohamud was arrested by the FBI and Portland Police Bureau around 5:40 p.m this eveining after he attempted to detonate what was believed to be an explosive full van that was parked near the tree lighting ceremony in Pioneer Courthouse Square.

[From the federal affidavit]
According to the affidavit, Mohamud responded that he was looking for a “huge mass that will . . . be attacked in their own element with their families celebrating the holidays.” Further discussing the attack, Mohamud allegedly stated, “…it’s in Oregon; and Oregon like you know, nobody ever thinks about it.”

So during the Christmas season where Christians everywhere are donating food to the hungry, ringing bells for the poor and giving blankets to the homeless the Religion of Peace is trying to blow people up.

I think you have totally misconstrued this "incident". He was only celebrating Ramadan and wanted to be inclusive with the Christians (from outside Portland) and Portland residents attending a holiday tree lighting ceremony. I know this because he was heard to shout his seasons greetings "ala akbar" as they took him away. I feel confident that some lawyers will come forward to "get him off" and blame all of us for persecuting him in this way.

Just another "Immigrant" celebrating "Diversity"

Daniel, correct your spelling, it is the Religion of "Pieces" (pieces of childrens bodies everywhere), not peace.

And yeah why is there a big pine tree in downtown portland with lights on it? Whats up with that?

Next year it will be hundreds of towel heads praying while assembling bombs. Cause they are "offended" by that tree and the Democrats/Liberals do not want to offend anyone.

May the Ticks of a thousand Camels infest his eyes & bunghole for life.

I wonder of which overcompensated "Diversity" Govenrment worker has too teach him how to use toilet paper?

Muslims - wipe their Ass with their hand but think Bacon is dirty.

Muslims - grow and sell Heroin but Beer is evil.

Muslims - no money for shoes or a Dentist visit but have money to buy machine guns and explosives.

Muslims - do not allow Women to drive but, well I do agree with that one

Your TAX dollars wasted again of over $1.4 BIl. in one year for obviously horrible for the economy illegals education, a small sample of Pres. Husseins 2011 Ed. Budget...

$800 million for a reauthorized English Learner Education program, an increase of $50 million, or 6.7 percent, to help States and school districts meet the needs of the growing population of English learners, and to help these students reach the same college- and career-ready goals for reading and mathematics as other students by investing additional competitive funding in developing and scaling up effective programs and practices.

$445.2 million for Title I Migrant Education and Neglected and Delinquent State agency programs to help meet the educational needs of approximately 537,000 children of migrant agricultural workers and to help an estimated 132,000 neglected and delinquent students return to and complete school and obtain employment after they are released from State institutions

BILLIONS for "Cheap" Farmwokers and Lawnmowers?!?!

Not to be confused with the real "Religion of Peace," which brought you the Crusades, the Inquisition, the Salem Witch Trials, the African slave trade and the genocide of Native Americans by "illegal aliens" from Europe. To mention just a few highlights. I mean, lowlights. I mean ... whatever. Welcome to Miglavia.

How many blankets have you given to the homeless, Miglavs?

In Anonymousland, context is irrelevant. Therefore, history has only one interpretation: that which the Party has deemed appropriate.

Welcome to Anonymousland. Hope you brought your shovel with you, comrade!

FP! I am so glad you came by!

Since you obviously missed my point (once again) let me spell it out for you in language even a child could understand:

Daniel has taken the initiative to essentially smear an entire religion and the billions of peaceful, law-abiding people who practice it by making an example of an obviously deranged, deeply disturbed individual in Portland who felt he was doing God's work by killing as many innocent people as he could.

I thought to myself: Doesn't the religion of Daniel's choice -- Christianity, which he surely believes truly is "peaceful" -- also have a history of producing individuals (and churches, and entire societies) who have done horrific things to other human beings in the name of their God? Isn't context relevant?

You're goddamned right it is. It absolutely is. That's my point, dumbfuck.

So here's something we could talk about: Are the actions of extremists truly representative of whatever ideology they espouse? Is there something inherent about all religion that compels some to violence? Isn't the Christian Bible one of the bloodiest books ever written and -- like the Koran -- also filled with passages that some people have taken as directives to do terrible things to others? Is it fair to judge the tree not by the hundreds of delicious apples that might be found on it, but by the few rotten ones that fall to the ground?

So we've got these, and so many other interesting questions raised by Daniel's comment -- and my response to it, which, while flip, was intended to highlight something intelligent people would immediately recognize as hypocrisy. Questions just waiting to be discussed seriously and honestly debated.

Blew it again, didn't you?

Now, if you'll excuse me, my wife is now going to submit to me. The Bible, after all, mandates it.

anon 5:54 You don't know history. It was muslims in the slave trade for over 100 years that enslaved the black Africans and sold them as slaves. It was also the muslims in Afriac then captured and enslaved more European white people in Africa then there were black slaves in the new world.

You are also incorrect in your claim that there was Indian genocide. For the most part there were small fights on both sides which resulted in a pretty even number of deaths on both sides. The Indians were pretty effective fighters and killed as many whites as whites killed Indians. I think you get your history from cowboy movies!!

To anon 5:58
You blew it. The difference is when a Christian commits a crime and trys to claim he did it in the name of his religion EVERYONE stands up and disagrees and call for his punishment. When a Muslim commits a crime by blowing up innocent men, women and children other muslims around the world celebrate and no one from the religion of peace actively stands up for justice.

Anonymous said...

Muslims have done this to themselves. Until the religion of Islam goes thru reformation this crap is not going to end.

9:58,

Thanks for doing your part to bring civility to the conversation. Without you, this whole thread would have degenerated into nothing more than a bunch of shouted accusations and ad hominems.

And thank you for catching that I completely missed your point. Why, if it weren't for your keen powers of observation, I would never have been aware of my own folly. Of course, no one in their right mind would have ever dreamed of rejecting the premise of your argument. After all, it just isn't an option when dealing with someone of your dazzling intellect. Your exhaustive knowledge of history, along with your firm grasp of current events, makes you quite the formidable opponent in debate. I stand humbled just merely to be in your presence.

Please... come back and wow us some more with your brilliant repartee.

Same nonsense, different thread. As usual, nothing serious to contribute, nothing to say. Flourish with no substance. A waste of time, so: Goodbye.

Diversity is great. We need more diversity.

FP said...

9:26,

A waste of time...

And yet, here you are. Making comments, no less. Methinks there's a disconnect between your words and actions.

What do you call that? For some odd reason, the word's just not coming to mind. Maybe it'll come to me later...

Why is it that Mohamud is referred to as a teenager and the girl he raped is referred to as a woman? Anyone????

S.Pryce said...

FP doesn't debate. He preens. Good at it, too. LOL! What a clown.

FP said...

FP doesn't debate.

Nothing gets past you, does it?

Now, do ya s'pose there's a reason why that is?

S.Pryce said...

It's really of no consequence to me either way, but it sounds like you have something you need to get off your chest, so go ahead, FP, unburden your soul: Why do you preen?

Anonymous said...

He preens , because, He can't do anything else . He can't provide an arguement to save himself. Thats what the left is all about !!!

FP said...

S.Pryce,

Why do you inverse-anthropomorphize?

Anonymous said...

LOL!!!! FP, it's one thing to be in love with the "Word of the Day" function on your web browser, but it's quite another thing (and a pretty pathetic one) to feel compelled to show off to Anons you obviously regard as idiots. Seriously. Get some help, friend. You've got issues.

Anonymous said...

Why do you inverse-anthropomorphize?

I don't know, but if you do, you'd better clean it up. :-)

FP said...

9:54am:

Congratulations, sport! You managed to stage an intervention for someone you've never met, based on nothing more than conjecture.

That must be why they pay you the big bucks, huh?

Anonymous said...

It's not conjecture that you used the words "inverse-anthropomorphize," Professor FP. 'Nuff said.
