Obama pleads for $50 billion in state, local aid
President Obama urged reluctant lawmakers Saturday to quickly approve nearly $50 billion in emergency aid to state and local governments, saying the money is needed to avoid "massive layoffs of teachers, police and firefighters" and to support the still-fragile economic recovery.

Step 1: Spend money that we don't have to pay government workers that we can't afford.

Step 2: ?

Step 3: Profit!!!

Never ending bailouts. How can teachers be laid off when they get a lot of our general fund? Didn't they just give the schools 20% two years ago? I can't wait until we bail out the whole fucking planet.

Sooner or later they will run out of other people's money. Greece here we come.

We will join Greece sooner than later!!!

Who will bail us out when we end up like Greece? China sure as hell will not. Since they are basically an enemy, they will beat us without firing a shot. We will have to give them our children, grand children and all our natural resources to pay off the debt the government has borrowed from them.

Lay off the kool-aid, Dave.

If the dollar is worthless, how will we pay back China? Perhaps the Zero living at 1600 Penn ave will just say, "hell with it," and give them our oil resources because he knows very little about economics and I would bet if we could get a look at those grades taht are locked away the proof would be there. His grades were most likely worse then GWBush's.

Pull your head out of the sand. I recommend you read some history. The idiots that don't know history are doomed to repeat it. If I remember correctly, Germany was in pretty much the same situation in the twenties that we are currently in.

You don't think with the way the democrats are spending money that we aren't headed to bankruptcy. Where are we going to get the money to pay for social security? How about medicare and medicaid? You might want to stop listening to the liberal/commie leaders and media.

My economics professor told my class over twenty years ago that there would be no social security for us. I'm 45 and they will be insolvent this year. He was right. The new health care plan will speed up the bankruptcy of our country. It's called economics. Almost half the country is on the dole and not paying their fair share of taxes. We simply borrow to pay for their share. That is stupid.

If you don't think we are headed down the bankruptcy road you are drinking the liberal/commie cool aid. Remember it's spiked with stupid.

If you are not worried, you are in bizarro world or the twilight zone or an obama lover.

Dave- While I generally agree with most of your contentions, why do you still cling to a partisan perspective of Dem/liberal vs. Rep./conservative paradigm? Show me the fiscal conservativism of George W. with unending wars that we don't bother to fund directly, the initial banking bailouts that we can't pay for, the opening of our highways to Mexican truckers, the giving away of our ports to foreign interests and the expanding of the Federal government and the reduction of our civil liberties.
Through his executive statements George W. Bush basically thumbed his nose at our constitution and usurped powers forbidden by our own constitution
Obama is Bush III. He has not rescinded any of these treasonous executive orders to my knowledge and will continue to use them because they are available. Open borders, increased government intervention and control, world government and the end of U.S. sovereignty began in earnest with George H.W. and continued with Clinton, Bush II and now Obama. That's all you are going to get from Dem and Rep candidates period. They are bought and paid for by special interests.
As long as they can keep us arguing between Dem and Rep they can drowned out reason and perpetuate their agenda. Until you realize this you are part of the problem. No I'm not saying we need a violent revolution, just a return to constitutional order as prescribed by the founders.

Bobkatt, you are correct. I called Gordon Smith a lot and bitched at his staff just as I do with merkely's and wyden's staff. That is one of the reasons I did not vote for him. He disgusted me. I always told them to stop spending money. However, the dems are in charge now. I am pissed at the repubs because they set the precedent for these bailout. Right now the dems have the control. They have controlled congress for four or five years.

That idiot bush signed the spending bills when they crossed his desk. I will never forgive him for that uncontrolled spending. I want to harp on the dems now. I think some of the repubs have figured out Americans are pissed at the uncontrolled spending and if they get control of congress in the fall they might control themselves for a few years.

If they get control, they might stop some of this spending which might save a few trillion dollars. If the dems remain in charge, we are bankrupt. I think it is already too late.

Bobkatt, I did not read your whole statement before I responded in my above post. I agree with you about arguing about dems/repubs. I want conservative in there who actually read and understand the constitution. I'm hoping more of the repubs might start to see the light. Have a great weekend.
