If only there weren't crimes we wouldn't have criminals
For the first time - Latinos make up more than half of all federal
felony offenders sentenced so far this year, a major demographic shift
swollen by immigration offenses, according to a new government report.
"Statistics like this have to start drawing attention to this country's
immigration policies and what we're doing, if this is one of the
results," said Fordham University Law School professor Deborah Denno, an
expert on racial disparities in the criminal justice system. "The
implications for Latinos are huge when you think of the number of
families affected by having their breadwinners put away for what in some
cases would be considered a non-violent offense."
I love the crocodile tears of families being "torn apart" when one family member CHOOSES TO BREAK THE LAW. The implications for "Latinos" here is not the issue. The federal government isn't rounding up Latinos. The people who are affected by our criminal justice system are... wait for it... criminals!
While I don't wish harm on anyone I would find it ironic if professor Deborah Denno has her ID stolen (non violent crime) and her house broken into (non violent crime). We would quickly find out how worried she was about the family of the perpetrator being broken up.

If A, then B.
If you break the law to enter this country, you are a law-breaker.
If you're willing to break the law to get what you want, you are a criminal.
If you disregard the law, you are acting in flagrance of the law.
If you are flagrant of the law, you are a scoff-law.
If you continually ignore the law, you are a repeat offender.
If you tend to dis-regard legality, you are a serial offender.
If you care not for the social contract of law-abiding citizens, you are an enemy of the state.
If you are an enemy of the state, you are a criminal.
If you are a criminal, you, if caught, will be sent to jail.
Did I miss anything?

Daniel says, "The implications for "Latinos" here is not the issue. The federal government isn't rounding up Latinos. The people who are affected by our criminal justice system are... wait for it... criminals!"

How ironic coming from you Daniel, given that many of the "problems" you discuss on this blog are broad in nature, yet you somehow always find a way to single out "latinos" when discussing those broader issues.
Given this, the obvious implication is that you're somewhat of a racist and a hypocrite (surprise, surprise). The secondary implication from this, is simply that you're not intelligent enough to detect your own obvious hypocrisy.
Yawn.
This is like saying short skirts cause rape so rapists should be set free.
11:07 You did read Daniel's statement "I will not rest until illegal aliens get treated like the criminals that they are." didn't you???? It might explain why he "singles out Latinos"!! DUH!!!
What was that? Another commenter, from the safety and security of anonymity, called Daniel a racist again?
*Yawn*

Well FP, you know that old saying: If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck and talks like a duck...it's usually a duck.
Sure enough, if you Google Daniel's name, the Internet has pretty much pegged him as a racist. I hope Daniel has a secure job, because his racists diatribes have pretty much ensured that no reputable employer would touch him with a ten-foot pole.
Karma is a wonderful thing.

Does your mouth always work before your brain kicks in? You said, "if you Google Daniel's name, the Internet has pretty much pegged him as a racist".
Why don't you try and do that yourself. Go one step further and google your name. I find stupid with a low double digit IQ that is the product of way too much inbreeding.
Keep spewing out garbage idiot.
"Sure enough, if you Google Daniel's name, the Internet has pretty much pegged him as a racist."
If The Internet says it's true, then it must be true.
All hail the internet FP.
Hey FP, have you ever heard the phrase, "Perception is reality"?
There's a reason that companies like Reputation Defender exist. It's because the things that are said about you on the Internet DO matter. Just as they always have in civic life.
You can pretend as if this isn't the case, but then, well...you'd just be pretending.

are you telling us that since theres no instance on the internet of daniel beeng a racist and since you percieve him as racist he's a racist?
Your premise is flawed 11:40. Daniel has said plenty of things that are racist, and that have accurately been perceived as such.
Which provides another important lesson on perception: Just because you don't perceive something, doesn't mean that others don't.

If you perceive something to be true, then by golly, it must be true!
