Your tax dollars at work

Wait, did GM just use our taxpayer dollars to hire Eminem as a spokesperson...?

Wait, have I ever seen Daniel Miglavs complain about this use of taxpayer dollars?

I don't mind tossing criminal aliens out of our country with tax dollars. The savings would be astronomical. Plus it will save the lives of many children. I can't figure out why the democrats and some republicans don't care about the lives of our children.

I wonder what they call a dead American child killed by an illegal alien. Collateral damage, the cost of doing business, or they don't give a shit, votes are more important than the lives of children. Maybe all of the above.

ANON, didn't al queada attack us from afghanistan? I seem to have forgotten why our troops are there. We must be there for the oil.

You know, Dave I don't think I've ever seen you complain about this use of taxpayer dollars either.

Last I read, the government had reduced its stake in GM from 61% to 26%, and made money on the last sale of GM stock. In addition, the government is well-positioned to actually make a tidy profit when they sell the remaining 26%.

By the time this matter is resolved, the government will have made money, while helping to ensure 1.1 million jobs remained here in the U.S.

Since I always hear conservatives claiming "Government should be run more like a business", I'm not exactly sure what the fuss is. Investing money and making a profit from it is about as "business like" as it gets.

I often think hardcore conservatives would like for the government to lose money on GM, just so they can say "See, we were right!" In this regard, they very much resemble hardcore liberals who wanted the U.S. to lose the Iraq war just so they could say "See, we were right!"

While the far-left and far-right hate each other with a passion, they irony is that both sides have quite a bit in common. I don't trust either of them, and for the same reasons.

Wasn't he in the Chrysler ad? - We're from America - in Detroit

So no. But Chrysler is asking for our money, again.

Wrong, we said you're *going to* lose, and we were right.

We also said big oil would win, however, and we were right about that too.

I can't remember why we are in Afghanistan, it must be because of the oil. Can you explain to me why our troops are there?

You know, Dave, we're really beyond the point of why we're there. Oil, Taliban, Osama bin Laden. All of the above, none of the above, whatever. The question at this point is: Is it worth it, to you, that taxpayers have shelled out $376 billion dollars for it? Because if you're okay with that, fine. I just want to know. Then we can go back to Miglavs' selected Topic of the Day of bitching about GM hiring a rap star for a Super Bowl commercial.

If you look at the Maroney/Sticker on the window of that new Chrysler/Dodge, even the 2011's, it says made in MEXICO!

And GM/Gov't didn't make a "Profit" from that IPO, Big Brother got some OUR loan money back and still own a chunk of at least 25%, (per Motor Trend mag.) vis a vie, our loan is not fully paid back.

I can't believe you would put such a cheap price on almost three thousand lives. Do you remember that the world trade center was attacked years before by al-queda? Since Clinton didn't respond to that attack and other attacks by them, we got hit again.

I believe we should win that war and not worry about the cost. I heard the 911 attack cost us about two hundred billion that day. I could be wrong. If you have a more accurate number, ok. If we don't stop al-queada and they hit us with a WMD, it might cost a hell of a lot more and a lot more lives.

Americans should be in the business of winning wars. Since we have been involved with the UN, we have been in the business of tying or losing wars. We should fight the war to win (not this current bullshit strategy) and get the fuck out. We have to make war the nice way. I disagree with the strategy, but I don't disagree with the war.

If we cut and run again, this will embolden more terrorists and then we will have bigger problems. Clinton proved that.

We have every right and an obligation to our country and children to kill our enemies so our children can be safe.

Note to you, I don't think they have a lot of oil.

We have shelled out ( I think I've lost count) over three trillion dollars in bailouts, stimulus and other bullshit and what has it gotten us? Nothing but more debt and high unemployment. That money would have been better put to use fighting the war. Let's do the math, a little over one thousand dollars for every man, woman and child in this country to keep them safe. We have spent over ten thousand dollars for every man, woman and child to bail out unions, foreign and domestic banks, billionaires, cities, states and everything else under the sun and what has that gotten us. Zilch.

It is a better investment to fight the war instead of bailouts. It's cheaper and has a better return.

You need to be a better student of history and you also need some common sense, if we don't fight al-queada over there, we will be fighting them here as Clinton proved.

Gee, I guess you're right, Dave. I guess I just need to be a better student of history. Thanks for talking some sense into my dumb ass. Back to the books ...

;-)

Idiot.

Dave01 is just stuck on stupid. Must have had hookworm as a kid.

I can never understand what was so *bad* about the 1990s to conservatives. What do they hate so much about peace, prosperity, surpluses as far as the eye can see?

Dave01, were you in a coma from 1993-2001?

DAVE01 said...

I guess you anons are some of the recipients of the bailouts. Stealing from the future of our children.

DAVE01 said...

Why don't you tell the families of the victims of 911 that it's not worth the cost to kill the people who killed their families and to make sure it never happens to more Americans; yet, it's okay to bailout foreign banks with their money.

And I think it's interesting that Miglavians didn't start complaining about bailouts until it was Obama doing it. When Bush did it: No problem. How much more obviously can you guys advertise your hypocrisy? Maybe if you wore a shirt emblazoned with the words "I am a hypocrite" on it.

Dave always comes up with the most interesting "arguments." Love the latest one, Dave: Yeah, I actually am a recipient of millions of dollars in bailout money! So are all the other Anons. You caught us, I guess. You don't miss anything. ;-)
