As of right now Senator Wyden's phone lines are jammed. Make those calls today in opposition to the DREAM Act amnesty!!

Thank you for contacting me to share your concerns about the Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors (DREAM) Act (S. 729). While we may disagree about this legislation, I appreciate knowing your views and value the opportunity to share my perspective.
I believe every student deserves the opportunity to attend college and achieve his or her full potential, and that children should not be held responsible for their parents' actions. The DREAM Act would allow undocumented students who have been in the United States for at least five years the opportunity to earn legal status. I believe it is in our nation's best interest to ensure that all children receive the opportunities of higher education so that they can join the workforce and fully contribute to the economy and society.

Jeff Merkeley is nothing more than Ron Wyden's sock puppet. It would not surprise me one bit if Wyden had told him exactly what to say about the DREAM Act, which BTW, was voted down just a couple of hours ago. Maybe the U.S. Senate is finally starting to act like responsible adults after all. If even for just this once. Things will start to get better after the voters of Nevada "retire" Harry Reid in 6 weeks.
And Merkeley is well on the way to being a one-term Senator, just as The Komrade Doofus is well on his way to being a one-term president.

In California a few years back I was waiting in line at a community college to register for a class. To speed things up one of the registrars was coming up the line checking paperwork. Two young women (about 19) in front of me; the first one had a green card and was approved. The second was a lifelong California resident who moved with her new husband to Texas when he enlisted in the Army and under the law their got a Texas drivers license. He was sent overseas to Iraq and she went home to live with her parents until he came back. But because she had a Texas license she had to pay out of state tuition. She couldn't afford it and went away in tears. An odd dichotomy: An alien who might have been in the country a few days or a few years and a lifelong citizen of California who's husband is away defending his country. And who does the state punish?? If we get the dream act it will be even worse. That is people who are not even citizens of the U.S. will get resident tuition while you or your children will not. And somehow this is supposed to be a good thing! One last point: Who pays for the subsidized tuition??? In many cases it will be the very same taxpayer who will be denied the same "dream".
This was Voted NO as it should be by the D's only because they are up for election.
But afterwards Wyden & Reid and the D's who are UNelected will push this through in Dec. & guarantee 3-5 million D voters for election 2012!
ps, Bell california is a perfect exmaple of what happens when an American town is taken over by Mexico.
And Woodburn/Hillsboro are next.
Except that 8 of the Bell leaders are actually now in Jail, in Mexico they would still be in power w/Cartels or killed.
