The next Chris Dudley commercial should go something like this:
Dudley: It's true, I wanted to keep more of the money that I earned rather than give it to government to spend on needle exchange and migrant outreach programs.
Dudley's tax advisor: And I didn't get the industry memo telling me to advise my client on how to pay MORE taxes rather than less which is what tax advisers are supposed to do.
Dudley: While I realize that BlueOregon spends every December encouraging people to hurry up and use their political tax credit which will reduce their tax liability, probably because they hate black people (I keep saying it so it must be true!) it is different when I do anything to reduce my own tax liability.
Random charitable organization: No Democrat has every kept a receipt from their gift in order to reduce tax liability. Ever.
The NEA: NEA supports expanding the educator tax deduction because it recognizes the sacrifices made by educators who work in America’s public schools.
Kitzhaber's donation website: "Oregon offers an income tax credit to residents who contribute to qualifying state, federal or local political campaigns. The total credit is limited to $100 on a joint return or $50 on a single or separate return. Please see OregonTaxCredit.com for details."
Me: Teachers are trying to dodge taxes because they hate children!
