Couple things about that Miglavs, that you may want to know: 1) If you start shooting at The Gov'mint, you're likely to be squaring off with the very troops that you right-wingers demand that we support, and a scenario that has you shooting at them is, well, problematic for starters. I could go on, but on to ...

2) Attempting to overthrow The Gov'mint, as glorious and romantic as you probably imagine it to be, also happens to be ... um, let's see, what's the word? Oh yes -- "illegal."

What's with this cryptic citation of the Declaration of Independence? It almost seems as if you're posting this because you find some current merit in overthrowing the U.S. Government.

And you continue to wonder Daniel how come your ilk is increasingly the voice of irrelevance in this country? I might speculate that if the best you can do these days is put forth bat-shit crazy, coy suggestions of government overthrow, it is precisely that type of attitude/posturing that explains why it is exceedingly difficult to take people like you seriously anymore.

Your brand of politics has been soundly rejected by a majority of the electorate, so what do you do? Well, you do what any democracy and freedom loving right-winger does...You throw a fit vis-a-vis talking about overthrowing the government. Beautiful!

Yes folks, this is where the right-wing in America is at these days. When they lose influence, and people stop listening to them...it's time for them to overthrow the government!

Of course, this is all quite ironic of them. I mean, this is the sort of attitude that dictators and despots have. And yet, America's right-wing (which has always had an authoritarian/totalitarian flavor underlying it) is now hinting that if their representatives can't win free, democratic elections on the merits of their own ideas, well...then it's time to overthrow the government!

I love it when every once in awhile, these right-wingers show their true colors. They've been out of power now for only six months, and rather than enage in serious discussion about how they can regain the trust and goodwill of the American people, some of them are instead hinting about government overthrow.

Wow...talk about the complete intellectual and emotional collapse of an entire political movement!

Here too, we have more irony from you. Because while merely reading a blog will likely never put anyone on a government watch list, making coy suggestions that it's time to overthrow the government just might get you on that list!

To be sure, that you would even hint at such a thing only six months after completely losing power in D.C., suggests either a tremendous amount of sour grapes on your part, or that you really ARE somewhat of an "extremist".

Neither scenario is particularly enviable.

Wait until freedom of speech is supressed (The Fairness Doctrine) in the intrest of "Fairness". wait until your constitutional right are trampled in the interest of "Public Safety" (gun control legislation).

Wait until YOU are forced into working 40+hours a week, only to have the Gov't take over half your pay, all to support legislation and laws that were passed by a Congress who didn't even bother to read the bills they were voting on.

I notice you don't necessarily disagree with the premise of my post, which is that Daniel is sending up a flare indicating he's game for a revolutionary fight here on the home front, complete with bombs bursting in air. In fact, it sounds like you're going to join him. But I really have to ask ... why?

Since you reactionary lunatics were so eager to point out that our "freedoms" were safe under the reign of Bush (an administration that extended its middle finger to the rule of law like an "illegal alien" could only dream of) I'd like to know what "freedoms" you've lost under Obama. I'd also like to know what your paycheck is looking like these days, in the federal withholding column. I don't know about you, but I got a tax cut (like most Americans) and I'd be willing to bet that Daniel got it, too. Tell me, were you among the ninnies out protesting on the Fourth of July? And before you launch into a fuzzy math tirade about how you'll actually end up being taxed more, tell me this: Is the tax cut you got under Obama larger or smaller than the one you got under Bush? I'd also like to know if you protested the illegal Bush invasion of Iraq (or anything else Bush did, for that matter, other than his refusal to shoot Latinos dead in their tracks at the border.) Did you "utter an ounce of opposition" about it, or did you sit on your fat ass in front of FOX News and cheer them on while the bloodied bodies of American kids piled up, courtesy of YOUR tax dollars?

Obama is about as likely to take your guns away as he is to launch a $250 billion a year Department for the Study of Cow Farts, but I know that's a dystopian NRA fantasy that you guys love to entertain, so I won't try to take that away from you.

I work for one of those guys that are being taxed an outragious amount. and because his bottom line is affected they were a few more men on the unemployment line. yep they got a huge tax break didn't they !!!!!!
and my own pay check , well lets just say that I never saw a break .

You really are a knucklehead. How many "Kids" are in the armed forces?? None, that's how many. You have to be 18 to join, same as to vote. 18 is an adult in every State in the Union as far as I know.

Now, as for the "Illegal" Iraq war you wrote of: Since Kerry, Kennedy, Hillary, and countless other Dems of note were touring the country actually calling FOR the invasion when it was politically popular to do so, I can't imagine that they would support an ILLEGAL war, would you? If so, why aren't you libs calling for war crimes trials on them too? They voted for the invasion after all.

As for the freedoms that have been (or are attempting to be)taken away so far? Shall we start with my freedom to decide which healthcare plan I participate in? (The Dem. plan would actually FINE taxpayers $1000 for not participating in the Gov't sponsored plan.

As noted in my post, the "Fairness Doctrine" is being returned via the Democrats. (or attempting to be returned) They even want to include PAY media such as cable and sattelite television and radio.

Let's take your gun argument as an example: While Obama may not have the ability to take my guns away, he has proposed a tax on ammo, and even has floated the idea of individually serially numbered ammo, and a "national Ammunition Registry". These proposals would make the purchase of ammunition extremely cost prohibitive. Guns don't work very well without bullets.

The DHS Customs officials are even proposing a ban on the importation of knives that have the ability to be opened one handed. Thats just about every folding knife out there.

You make a lot of assumptions. I opposed a ton of the Bush era Patriot Act clauses, as well as the Bush Bailout fiasco that gave away free taxpayer money to banks that had a history of..well...mishandling money.

You also make a veiled insinuation that I'm a racist that would like to see Latinos shot dead in the streets. (your words..not mine).

Robert Byrd was a klansman.....and a Democrat. Martin Luther King was a Republican. Democrats filibustered the Civil Rights Act, in an attempt to delay the vote. The history od racism n this country belongs primarily in the hands of Democrats.


I can only conclude that you are like a majority of the other liberals I have encountered in my 43 years on this earth, and let me tell you my friend, I have LIVED. I have seen things that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I have done things that will haunt me forever. I have been an artist, a soldier, and a cop. I have lived on 6 continents and have visited dozens of countries. I have been extremely poor, and very wealthy. I have walked the walk.

You are an elitist in the belief that because you are a lib, you are somehow intellectually superior to non-libs.

But the bottom line here is this: KING LIB, obama had managed to quadruple the national debt in his first one hundred day. Hooray. Now he wants more money, and more, and more, and more. He's even borrowing money so that he can give it away as foreign aid. Guess who gets to pay that money back? You and I, and our children, and our grandchildren.

This will be the downfall of the "Progressive". America is traditionally a "right wing" country. Once in a while, they try out the left to see what happens, and then regret it later on. After Carter beat the country up, Reagan (a true conservative if ever there was one) was elected in a Landslide.

I could go on and on as to why the left wing (national Socialism is a Left Wing Ideology too by the way) is dangerous to the Constitution, and maybe I will someday when I have more time.

1. The minimum age to join the military, according to 10 U.S.C. 505, is 17. It is not 18. So right off the bat, you’ve established that you have no problem playing fast and loose with facts.

2. You will not be fined $1,000 if you decline to participate in the government health plan, as you expressly claimed. The $1,000 fine comes into play only if you decline coverage in ANY health plan, to include your employer’s private plan. So here too, you are lying. (I’m starting to see a pattern.) And you have still not established that any freedoms have actually been taken away from you.

3. The “Fairness Doctrine” is a controversy completely manufactured by the right-wing. It is not being brought back. In fact, Obama has expressly said he doesn’t support bringing it back. But the GOP talking heads know that their listeners (like you) are inclined to believe anything spoon fed to them. And so, they’ve told you that the Fairness Doctrine is coming back. And you’ve fallen for it. You’ve been duped, buddy.

4. Not surprisingly, you have distorted Obama’s stance on gun issues. You stated Obama “…even has floated the idea of individually serially numbered ammo.” That is flat-out, 100% false. Obama has never uttered even a single, solitary word about applying serial numbers to ammo. NOT A SINGLE WORD! Likewise, there has been NO mention of a “national ammunition registry”. You literally just made this up out of thin air! In fact, a Google search of “obama” and “national ammunition registry” pulls up exactly one page…THIS ONE! You are completely shameless, aren’t you???

5. You said that Obama has managed to “quadruple the national debt in his first one hundred day.” And once again, you are caught flat-out lying. The national debt was 10.6 trillion when Obama took office. It is now 11.5 trillion. Now Mr. DeLucca, if Obama had “quadrupled” the national debt as you claimed, that debt would be 42.4 trillion. Instead, it is 11.5 trillion. So what does this mean? It means you either failed 1st grade math, or you have once again completely pulled this “fact” out of your ass. Are you REALLY this frickin’ ignorant?!?

6. More a matter of opinion, but Reagan was a “true conservative” only in right-wing folklore. In real life, Reagan was the first modern-era President to massively grow the size of government. The national debt was below $1 trillion when Reagan took office. It was 2.7 trillion when he left. In other words, Reagan almost tripled the debt. (You see, unlike you, I have a command of simple math.) And I could go on about how Reagan Reagan – the man as opposed to the myth – was no conservative by any measure of what “conservatism” has historically meant.

7. You stated, “national Socialism is a Left Wing Ideology too by the way.” I’m assuming you are talking about the Nazi party, also known as the National Socialists. And once again, you're wrong. As an established fact of political science, on both the normal political spectrum chart and the Pournelle Chart, national socialism is a far-right ideology. This is not my opinion. It is an established fact of political science. I’m guessing that because the title has the word “socialism” in it, you deduced that it is a left-wing ideology. You’re kind of a simpleton like that. But any political science professor, including any conservative professor, will tell you that national socialism is inarguably a far-right ideology.

One point I'd add: He states, correctly, and with obvious triumph, that Reagan won in a landslide. My response would be ... so what? Hitler won in a landslide, too. More to the point, so did Obama. One can use a landslide as a starting point for any number of arguments. So what is DeLucca's?

But to revisit the question of how this started, which I raised in the first response to Daniel's post: DeLucca does not address it, not really. He admonishes me with a helpful reminder that a copy of the Declaration of Independence is on display in Washington D.C. (as if I didn't know this), says I'm similar to "weasles" who allow dictators to rise to power (as if any rational, serious person on the planet actually believes that Obama is going to somehow become a "dictator") and culminates with a Nietzschean crescendo with his declaration that those without "guts" have "no place in a free society," which I suspect in a Miglavian utopia would mean that you and I would be frog-marched to a detention camp, or worse.

DeLucca, if you have any interest in continuing this "conversation," get this through your thick skull right now: I am NOT a Democrat. I am NOT a "liberal." I do NOT listen to left-wing radio, and in fact couldn't even tell you who the left-wing radio show hosts in this country even are these days, much less what local stations carry them. I do NOT read the Daily Kos, although I looked at it a couple years ago after repeatedly facing silly accusations on this board that I was some sort of Daily Kos automaton. I get the sense that we won't see DeLucca back in this thread. If we ever see him again at all. He has pretty much blown his own credibility to smitherines, what with him completely fabricating out of thin air sundry "facts". If he ever had any credibility to begin with, that is.

Oh well. DeLucca represents the lowest common denominator of right-wing thought. He's the type of guy that intelligent conservatives wish would shut-up.

Unfortunately, the GOP (or what's left of the GOP carcus) is full of DeLuccas. Crass, ignorant, devoid of social intelligence...they are their own worst enemy, but too flippin' stupid to even realize it.

Thankfully, the proverbial "Deluccas" are an endangered species. They have failed to evolve, and just as in nature, they have thus doomed themselves to the will of those more intelligently designed. I think that Darwin guy I heard about was onto something! LOL!

Ok...I kid, I kid. But for real, the Deluccas of the world are certainly not helping the GOP recover. For those of us with a little sense of Miglavian history, I'm surprised he showed his face after the infamous "FBI/INS Statistical Report" debacle of '08 ... or maybe it was 2007.

In any event, for those who don't know: DeLucca was here citing the latest damning "evidence" about "illegal aliens," saying it was all there in the latest edition of the "FBI/INS Statistical Report." When asked to be more specific about the source, he referred everyone to some lunatic group, or maybe it was Lou Dobbs (also notorious for lying his fascist ass off).

Big surprise ... the only ones who seemed to have any information from this allegedly government-agency produced document were groups from the Miglavian wing of the GOP. A couple people scoured the web sites for BOTH agencies, and for some curious reason, neither had a copy of anything like what DeLucca was blathering about ... certainly nothing titled that. Later, it turned out that to the extent that anything remotely resembling what he was describing had ever even existed, it apparently had been discontinued by the INS years earlier. It really was one of the more embarrassing fumbles in the Miglavian Hall of Shame.

Seems like he disappeared for a while after that, but now Anthony "FBI/INS Statistical Report" DeLucca is back, tanned and rested, and ready to make a fool of himself again.

Mission accomplished!

I hadn't known about DeLucca's previous, uh, "difficulties" with telling the truth. But I'm not surprised. The guy obviously has character and integrity issues, what with the way he has shown himself to be perfectly willing to just make stuff up out of thin air, and present it as fact. (I still find it hysterical that he tried to associate Obama with some kind of "national ammunition registry". DeLucca literally just made that up on the spot, apparently unaware that the rest of us have access to the Internet as well, and can easily verify or debunk such claims. What a frickin' moron!)

Unfortunately, DeLucca's character and integrity issues are so typical and common among the far right-wing. These guys have NO moral compass, and will do or say anything to make their arguments. I remember right-winger Grover Norquist saying that "lying for the cause is sometimes a permissable mental reservation." And many right-wingers seem to have taken that to heart, because a lot of them seem to have no problem lying through their teeth. Isn't that right DeLucca?

But this is precisely why the public no longer takes them seriously. You can only act the fool for so long, before people wake-up and realize that you're acting the fool.

As for DeLucca, yeah, he'll be back eventually. And at that time, he will conveniently forget how much of an ass he made of himself. He'll also hope that everyone ELSE forgets. But not a chance.

Show your face around here again, DeLucca. I dare you, ya' big pussy!

Oh, yeah, I forgot about the MLK claim. Because we know for certain that MLK's father was a Republican, the right has latched onto the idea the MLK Jr. was also a Republican. But it ain't so.

MLK Jr. voted for both Kennedy and Johnson...a highly bizarre act for a supposed Republican.

There is no evidence whatsoever that MLK Jr. was a Republican. None. Which is why ass-clowns like DeLucca often repeat the claim. Since it's not true on its face, they feel that they have to repeat it often. Because we all know that when you repeat a falsehood often enough, it becomes true!

The fact is, ScottieBill, is that I don't complain about "anything" (or everything) Daniel posts; I made a comment about this specific and deliberate use of a historical document, which cannot simply be seen as an innocent Fourth of July salute to America; it comes from a person who has a criminal history, loves firearms, and is known to loathe the government, and you know that -- a specific and very relevant context, I think. No one has really responded seriously to my comment, which was intended to point to the hypocrisy involved, given the context of his other known positions.

And for the record, I would have ignored a weather report.
