Police are using force to make people follow the law and not obstruct traffic? Where is the ACLU?

2:56: A second arrest has been confirmed. The cause and identity are unknown but the arrestee is reported to be a high school student. The police are using "body slam" arrest techniques. One woman has apparently been slammed to the ground and drug by the hair apparently for playing a drum. The police are singling out individuals for arrest seemingly without cause. The arrests are reportedly unprovoked.

Words like "apparently" and "reportedly" mean "lies told by anarchists who are high on marijuana."

It goes on and on. Notice that these are not passive acceptance that this is going on but active encouragement and organization. There are, presumably taxpayer funded, supplies and literature given out as well as assembly time given to this propaganda. Instead of reading, writing and math they are learning that boys who want to pretend they are girls is normal.

Fleet is recognized as one of the nation's only government fleets to obtain this standard.

This is their brand new policy which reads like a third grader tried to copy the Declaration of Independence and make it about Earth Day. Setting high standards is a great thing but in the private sector a cost/benefit analysis would be done to see if meeting this standard is worth it. Government can say "let's buy 1,000 new Prius's with the taxpayers money" and it just happens.

They are registering those kids who marched out of school waving Mexican flags. They are registering those kids who identify themselves as "Mexican" even if they have never been to Mexico. This is scary stuff because they are registering to vote in America.

It's that whole "family values don't stop at the Rio Grande" thing.

The organization controlled the distribution of meth along the Interstate 5 corridor, bringing 200 pounds a month up from superlabs in Mexico, court documents said. About half the meth stayed in Washington, and the rest was shipped to the Midwest and East Coast, authorities said.

[Epifanio Barragan] has been ordered detained in federal custody for the duration of his case “based on immigration status,” according to court documents that don’t elaborate.

A few blocks away at 733 Second St., Maria Jesus Barragan Estrada, 35, admitted to agents she came to America illegally about 12 years ago, according to a probable cause statement.

Agents found a permanent resident card in her name and two Social Security cards. A federal agent checked and found no record of a resident card issued in her name, the statement said.

And the list goes on and on. These are the people that McCain, Clinton and Obama want to give amnesty to. Don't let them fool you about "background checks" and "the ones who aren't breaking the law" (which is laughable on it's face) because these are people who have no background and simply haven't been caught yet.

Officers found bloody dead and dying roosters when they responded to a report of possible cockfighting in Centralia over the weekend.

The man, who said he was a married father of four children, appeared surprised when the Centralia police officer informed him such activity was illegal, according to court documents filed on Monday.

Police Sgt. Kurt Reichert on Monday noted an influx of residents from Latin American countries where cockfights are acceptable.

On Monday, in Lewis County Superior Court, Magallanes told a judge through a Spanish interpreter he earns “very little” from his job and his wife does not work.

I was at the Wal-Mart in Little Mexico (Woodburn, they call it that) the other day and a guy was actually wearing a cock-fighting hat. If our hardworking friends from the south aren't careful they are going to lose their football careers over this wonderfully cultural bit of animal cruelty.

What I do care about is results. The socialist wanted us to "go away." We didn't. We wanted to collect signatures for the Respect for Law Act and stop illegal aliens from getting picked up. We accomplished those things.

Day labor protest 2008 - Part 2

Is this a box that distributes porn magazines?

No, it's just Cancha, The Oregonian's spanish language newspaper. Inside are exciting stories about soccer, Mexico and yes, plenty of lingerie pictures. It's a cultural thing.

Centro Cultural provides a woman to keep a list of illegal aliens so they can all take turns when working illegaly. The little boy with the attitude is the son of the lady who organizes the illegals.

Day Labor Protest 2008 - part 1

Oregonians for Immigration Reform and the Oregon chapter of the Minutemen protested today at an illegal alien day labor pick up site. Our goal was to keep illegal aliens from working illegaly and to collect signatures for the Respect For Law Act ballot initiative. The fact that illegal aliens decide to counter-protest us after we show up is just added fun.

The reason is simple – government cannot be put out of business, so there are no market forces to limit union demands.

As if unions didn't display their hatred for children enough with the government school system, now they want to punish the orphans?

And how broad can this definition of "state employee" go? Someone receiving unemployment insurance gets a check from the state, should they be union members?

Government creep is a slow but steady process and us frogs seem too stupid to jump out of the water.

Sorry to get you all excited by the title there. Yes, an Oregon company is going to issue secure ID for voting... for elections in Mexico!

Reasons to vote for Hillary/Obama

1. You were too stupid to buy a mortgage you could afford and you need government to take care of it for you.

2. You are too stupid to manage your own retirement and you need government to take care of it for you.

3. You are too stupid to get your own health insurance and you need government to take care of it for you.

4. You are too stupid to raise your own kids and you need government to take care of them for you.

5. You are too stupid to figure out that if you drive less you use less gas and you need government agencies to spend huge amounts of tax dollars in an advertising campaign to inform you of this.

6. You were born a male but now you want to cut off your penis, grow breasts and use the women's locker room at the gym and you want anyone who thinks you are a freak to be charged with a thought crime. I mean hate crime. Hate crime. As opposed to the crimes committed out of love.

7. You don't have the skills to command a higher wage and you want government to force your employer to pay you more.

Today I heard that Vancouver passed a "helmet law" and instead of people worrying about government intrusion in our personal lives they worried about poor people not being able to afford helmets. (Rest assured tax dollars are being used to buy helmets for "the poor")

I got a letter from Senator Smith indicating that he and Wyden "secured" $1.4 million for the Scoggins Dam project. (That's Hagg lake) I'm sure many people got this brochure and we so thankful instead of realizing that it's Smith who should be appreciative for being able to use the taxpayers dollars and somehow take credit for their appropriation.

These quotes demonstrate what so many politicians believe today: we are not a nation of laws, just political expediency. It starting with a "living constitution" but we have graduated to becoming fluid with our statutes. When government and it's officials decide that they can follow or ignore laws at their pleasure, and can be open about it, then we do not have a constitutional republic.

Are we in a recession? The politicians may say no, but Americans say yes. 74% of us say so, according to a CNN poll, a percentage any politician would lust for in an election. The numbers are pretty evenly divided three ways as far as whether it is a major, moderate or mild recession. Even 54% of Republicans agree with this assessment, less than the nearly 90% of the Democrats who concur, but still a significant number of people.

This has been irritating me for several days now because everywhere I go it seems that ignorant people have to make conversation about the "recession that we are in" and when "it is going to be over." It doesn't matter where you go, walk past a homeless camp and some bum will be making predictions on the "end of the recession" like he's a floor trader.

For the record: a recession is two consecutive quarters of declining GDP. We have not had that yet. We do not meet the defenition for "being in a recession." We may find out at the end of this quarter that we are but until then please stop talking like Ben Bernake sent you a text on your blackberry five minutes ago, you played golf with Warren Buffet yesterday and you're going to lunch with Henry Paulson.

You are not a finacial genuis, you can't even define recession and anyone who listens to your market predictions and isn't laughing in their head is dumber than you are.

Justices Agree on Right to Own Guns
Americans have a right to own guns, Supreme Court justices declared Tuesday in a historic and lively debate that could lead to the most significant interpretation of the Second Amendment since its ratification two centuries ago.

Governments have a right to regulate those firearms, a majority of justices seemed to agree. But there was less apparent agreement on the case they were arguing: whether Washington's ban on handguns goes too far.

This was not a ruling, the story is merely speculating based on statements/questions made during oral arguments.

You can't make any time, place or manner restrictions on abortion. They might as well be done in the proverbial back alley. A pregnant 13 year old girl, which is prima facie evidence of rape, can kill a baby with no questions asked and no interference from government.

There should be no restrictions on firearm ownership, possession or carry.

Health care is the largest industry in Southern Oregon, so our hospitals' health matters to all of us, experts say. The simplest measure of financial well-being is whether you bring in more money than you pay out. On that score, Medford's two hospitals did OK in 2006 (the most recent year for which data is available), but Ashland Community Hospital paid out more for wages, supplies and equipment than it took in.

"As government-sponsored care reimbursement drops, it creates immediate and direct cost increases for commercial insurance," he said.

This "cost shift" represents about 15 percent of the cost of health insurance premiums. As premiums increase, some employers who are just hanging on tend to drop insurance coverage for their employees, sending more people into the ranks of the uninsured.

Thank you government. My premiums are subsidizing the plans that my taxes already pay for.

Standing in line for bread in the Soviet Union may get to be what we joke about while we are standing in line for our health care someday. Save the SAVE Act
Thanks to the energetic work of Republicans and some sober-minded Democrats, the House may indeed get to vote on immigration reform legislation worthy of the name sometime soon. The bill is the SAVE Act (H.R. 4088), introduced by Rep. Heath Shuler, North Carolina Democrat, which aims to dramatically reduce the number of illegal aliens in the United States through stepped-up enforcement of U.S. immigration laws.

In the coming weeks, many rank-and-file Democrats will have to make a very difficult choice: carry water for Nancy Pelosi or respond to the legitimate concerns of their constituents.

Peter DeFazio is not on the list as far as I can tell. He is on our side on this one and we should encourage him to let congress vote on this.

The U.S. is driving away the world's best engineers and computer scientists by putting limits on H-1B visas and other immigrant worker programs, Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates told U.S. lawmakers Wednesday.

Gates repeated his past calls for more H-1B visas, the controversial program used by technology and other companies to hire foreign workers for up to six years.

And why are American workers not good enough for you Mr. Gates? Or is it that if you can increase the potential labor pool it will drive down wages across the board?

I mean, hey, why have any limits on H-1B visas at all? Anyone who wants in can come to work for Microsoft, Google, Sun Microsystems, etc. Social cost? Potential to radically change America? Who cares! Congress shouldn't worry about America, they need to worry about how much Microsoft is donating to their campaigns.

Sunday pondering

Is it just me or is the phrase "equal opportunity, affirmative action employer" an oxymoron? Either it's equal or you give preference based on racial, sexual or some other status.

Sam for mayor?

Not that Portland offers much in the way of candidates for conservatives but when Tommy Potter endorses Sho Dozono and then Sam Adams comes out to say that he would support the idea of requiring all bussinesses that contract with the city to make sure that all their employees are legal it looks like their may be a "lesser of two evils" candidate in the Rose City.

Of course, the idea is really the same as saying "the city won't contract with companies that use stolen equipment" but no-brainer or not this is Portland we are talking about. Thanks Lars.

Learn to habla

Ran across this video just now. I looked up the actual rules:

The number of Hispanic crews in the Northwest has increased markedly in recent years. A count of Spanish surnames on crew rosters suggests that about 85 percent of current contract firefighters are of Hispanic descent. This rough estimate doesn’t indicate how many crew members speak English.

There is no contract requirement that supervisors on contract crews speak any language other than English. There is a requirement that supervisors be able to communicate with the workers for whom they are responsible.

Consequently, if private companies elect to hire crew members who do not speak English, those supervisors must be bilingual or multilingual.

It does look like the forest service is paying attention to this issue and they indicate that no supervisors have been fired for not speaking Spanish.

So who is VOZ? They are the helpful folks who put out a "How to be prepared for an immigration raid" pamphlet. They also brag that "No INS and police raids have occurred at the corner where day laborers wait for work since spring 1998 as a direct result of day laborer organizing and action."

The only people who have to worry so much about ICE are criminals. Legal immigrants don't hide from ICE, citizens don't hide from ICE, only criminal aliens need to worry.

Oregon is conducting a one-of-a-kind lottery, and the prize is health insurance.

The state will start drawing names this week for the chance to enroll in a health care program designed for people not poor enough for Medicaid but too cash-strapped to buy their own insurance.

More than 80,000 people have signed up since registration for the lottery opened in January. Only a few thousand will be chosen for the program.

Two men allegedly delivering a quarter-pound of methamphetamine worth almost $12,000 to Redmond were arrested on the north side of town by drug agents who'd been watching for their car, officials said Monday. The pair remained in the Deschutes County jail, being held for federal immigration officials.

Armando Diaz Diaz, 35, of Metolius, and Jose Castor, 31, of the Madras area, were stopped around 6 p.m.

"Of the Madras area" huh. That's some crack reporting guys. We can only hope that these two got to the DMV before the deadline prevented them from getting their drivers licenses so that, as CAUSA would put it, "the safety of Oregonians" was first and foremost.

“We are very excited to be offering online hunter education,” said Chris Willard, ODFW hunter education coordinator. “This will make hunter education much more accessible for those whose schedules make attending a conventional classroom course difficult.”

It seems that ODFW is becoming more responsive to it's customers. It was just this last season that they allowed us to take the Goose ID test online and now we have this. (I still recommend the "mentored youth program" for kids under 14 since it doesn't involve the state other than registration) The DMV should take note and start accepting debit cards, it's 2008.

OFF vs OFIR

While I distrust government as the next bunker-having gun nut (that's a term of affection by the way) I don't understand the Oregon Firearms Federation opposing proof of legal residency to get a drivers license.

A) You have to provide proof of legal residency to get a job; you have to have a job to buy firearms

B) Speaking of buying firearms, unless you buy private you also have to provide proof of legal residency

C) The number of people who choose not to have a SSN is so miniscule that I do not believe that it is a valid argument

D) You have always had to identify yourself to the state to get a drivers license, the extra step actually verifying that you are who you say you are does not constitute a "national ID" (something I oppose)

E) This requirement exists, in patchwork, in most states in America. This has not led to a "national ID"

Conventional wisdom

Almost nothing makes sense coming from folks who are in favor of illegal aliens. Republicans insist that these criminals are the new conservative constiuency. (I guess "willingness to break laws" will be replacing "personal responsibility" as a plank in the Republican platform) But every group that "represents" these folks are openly partisan left.

Over at CAUSA they even put all the D's in bold typeface while the R's are relegated to the bottom of the list.

Then the liberal proponents of illegal aliens insist that Respect for Law folks are racist bigots who kill puppies when not oppressing minorities. These are the same CAUSA folks who say that restricting drivers licenses to legal residents affects the "Latino community."

Being Latino doesn't mean that you aren't an American or a legal resident. Why would you lump in a racial demographic with criminal aliens like that? CAUSA also plans to "launch the largest Latino voter registration campaign in the history of Oregon." They must be passing them out by the drinking fountain that I'm not allowed to use.

I wish an illegal alien had been doing my job today so that I could have been in Salem for the rally in support of the Respect for Law Act.

On December 17th, OFIR reserved the Capitol steps for our demonstration. The rules governing usage of the Capitol steps state that only one organization can use the steps in an organized demonstration. Obviously the illegal aliens and their supporters do not believe that rules apply to them.

Illegal aliens not concered with following the rules? Will wonders never cease. If anyone had photos/videos of todays event feel free to send them to me and I will post them with full credit to you.

Break the law for money

Drug trafficking suspects sentenced
The last of three men caught with a kilo of cocaine last month during a traffic stop on Interstate 5 near Rice Hill was sentenced Tuesday in Douglas County Circuit Court.

Ramirez, the only one of the three Mexican nationals to receive a prison sentence, was ordered to serve 16 months. He also received six months for the possession charge, but that time will run concurrently.

Ramirez’s defense attorney Angela Kuhn said the case was complicated and muddied further by language barriers.

Addressing Seitz in Spanish while entering his plea, Ramirez said he committed the crime because he needed to make money.

In the world of the illegal alien apologists, "needing to make money" is a perfectly good reason to break the law. I know, let's give these guys drivers licenses and some "stimulus checks."

Like the other two men, Ramirez was given probation, but it is unlikely that it will be served because all three men, in the country illegally, are expected to be turned over to immigration officials for likely deportation once their sentences have been served.

Marketing is a science and advertisers know who their target audience/demographic is when they use advertising money. So when a commerical for "indoor gardening products" is aired at 12am you know who they are shooting for. (hint: it's not folks growing tomatos)

But the best part of all this is the fact that the company that is clearly targeting marijuana growers has won an award... from Secretary of State Bill Bradbury!!

TriMet reaches out to criminals

"The agency scores $500K to hire an outreach specialist"

That byline just takes the cake. Half a million tax dollars are simply "scored" by a public agency for garbage.

Gonzalez, who has spent his career promoting educational access for poor and minority students, signed on as TriMet's new limited-English proficiency outreach coordinator in December.

The new position is funded by a $500,000, three-year grant from the Federal Transit Administration established to develop ways to better connect people who speak little English to public transportation. The agency is the first, and only, transit district in the country to receive the grant.

The first and hopefully last.

Gonzalez is past board president and a founder of the Latino Network and a former board president of Centro Cultural.

Perhaps TriMet is anticipating increased ridership due to the "newly arrived residents from Latin America" (their words) inability to get a drivers license. But it is facinating that even in the midst of all the violence on TriMet that is getting the agency so much scrutiny they seem to think that $500,000 is better spent trying to lure criminals onto mass transit rather than hire law enforcement to keep criminals off.

RE: the nurseries support for illegal aliens

I used to buy my plants for a high price at nurseries. That is, until I found a cheaper way, and since we all know cheaper is better no matter let me explain:

I simply go to the woods and dig up my own "undocumented plants." I have undocumented trees and shrubs that simply came to my yard for a better life. You see, the soil wasn't as fertile where they were growing so I'm actually helping them.

If I get caught in the act of helping the undocumented plants out of the woods I'll be in trouble but once they are in my yard they simply blend in with the other plants and no one cares. Think of all the money that I'm saving.

Now I know that those nativists from the nurseries have antiquated notions about "laws" and "their plants are better" but I can't see any consequences from this. Actually there were some new spots on the leaves of my current plants and I did notice a ravenous beatle I hadn't seen before but no matter, in the short term I get my plants on the cheap and screw everyone else.

For those that wonder why I wrote this parody here is the story.

Driving home I passed the sign outside my kid's elementary school that said "thank you school board." My first thought: great, I'm getting screwed.

I get home to find out that our brave new schools are passing out pamphlets about taking the Earned Income Tax Credit. Thankfully the brochure had a Spanish section because my English is a little fuzzy.

Here's some math: if the schools get 10% more funding will our children get

A) 10% better education
B) 10% more education
C) 10% more garbage sent home in the form of Spanish pamphlets

New Rules Adopted On Driver Licenses
The Oregon Transportation Commission adopted new rules Thursday regulating the issuance of driver licenses.

Under rules that take effect Feb. 4, applicants must show proof of residence to get an Oregon license. When a customer comes to an Oregon Department of Motor Vehicles office to apply for a first-time, renewal or replacement card, the DMV will electronically verify the Social Security number provided.

Defending the indefensible

It is funny to watch folks try to defend drivers licenses for illegal aliens. (ssssshhhhh, don't call them illegal aliens, call them "immigrants") If you also want to watch the friends of illegal aliens tie themselves in knots trying not to say the word "illegal" no matter what check out CAUSA's new video:



One guy actually says "illegal" and then corrects himself and says "undocumented." This is the same guy who insists that an ITIN is "issued by a federal agency that does security checks" and could be used to ID folks to get a driving priviledge card.

Romney Wins Michigan GOP Primary
The former Massachusetts governor defeated John McCain, the Arizona senator who was hoping that independents and Democrats would join Republicans to help him repeat his 2000 triumph here. Mike Huckabee, the former Arkansas governor, trailed in third, and former Tennessee Sen. Fred Thompson was waiting for the top three candidates in South Carolina, already campaigning.

McCain wants the democrats to vote for him, Romney was endorsed by Tom Tancredo. Nuff said.

It's funny because they don't get it

Criminals worried about being "outlaws"

Hundreds gather to protest driver's license rules
Several hundred people, mostly Latino, are rallying on the Capitol steps in protest of strict new driver's license rules scheduled that will make it harder for illegal immigrants to drive.

Signs in Spanish and in English pleaded against the change, scheduled to start Feb. 4. One large banner read: "Taking our driver license away take our honesty away. We don't want to be outlaws."

I got news for you my illegal amigos: you are already dishonest and you are already outlaws.

You can "not ask" and "demand" all you want, you aren't getting it.

Make every illegal vote count

Every time a newspaper needs a quote in support of illegal aliens they turn to Ramon Ramirez. (of PCUN) So where does Bill Bradbury turn when he needs someone to help him "get out the vote"? Hey, Ramon Ramirez again! (scroll down the page, third from the bottom)

But I'm positive that he wouldn't be trying to register illegal voters. No way. He's all about following all the laws... except for those ones that he doesn't like.

I recommend: stop wasting tax dollars

1. Create an office of immigrant and refugee affairs, with a multi-ethnic staff...
New city department that will take money from police, roads, etc.

2. Establish a multicultural community center that... offers opportunities for people of different ethnicities to mingle.
Because if government doesn't make a "multicural community center" then people will not have any opportunity to "mingle."

3. Provide additional resources for immigrant and refugee organizations to train or support their constituents in civic engagement.
Give tax dollars to La Raza for "get out the vote" efforts.

4. Conduct a professional evaluation to (1) assess the City’s current Human Resources (HR) policies and practices, and (2) recommend changes that would result in the recruitment, hiring, and retention of multilingual and multicultural staff...
Professional evaluation = someones campaign contributions get rewarded with a consulting job, the rest is just code for "don't hire white males who speak English."

But it doesn't stop there folks, in addition to these valuable recommendations the task force has a list of "what's working" and "what's not."

Working:
The City is attempting to diversify its workforce, it is taking more of an interest in helping immigrants and refugees, and it is more frequently funneling funding directly to immigrant and refugee communities, rather than through a third party.

Not working:
In addition, Portland’s immigrants and refugees may be hesitant to interact with someone outside their own culture or to make use of services or facilities that do not exhibit some degree of racial or ethnic diversity. For some immigrants, not seeing someone “like themselves” suggests that the facility, activity, or service is not for people like them.
Not wanting to interact with people "like themselves"... what's that called again? Oh yeah, racism.

Some immigrants and refugees in Portland are dealing with addressing their basic needs for food, clothing, housing, and health care and do not have time and energy to focus on civic involvement, leadership development, or community advocacy.
You know, if I couldn't feed, clothe, house, provide medical care for my family I also wouldn't have time for "civic involvement" (or this blog) because I would BE OUT LOOKING FOR A JOB!

The Oregon Health Fund Board was created by Senate Bill 329. (The Healthy Oregon Act) The Board is developing a comprehensive plan to achieve the Oregon Health Fund program goals outlined in SB 329.

That means the service provider will have brown skin and speak Spanish. Dead serious.
