39 percent raise proposed for Ore. Governor
Many of Oregon’s public servants will get huge raises next year if a commission tasked with examining their pay gets its way.
The Oregon Public Official’s Compensation Commission recommends raises ranging from 22 to 54 percent.
It calls for raises of 39-percent for the Secretary of State, the Superintendent of Public Instruction and the Labor Commissioner.
I love the campaign commercials that compare how much we spend in Iraq (you know, that place we fight the terrorists so we can have seven years of no attacks on American soil) to how much healthcare/groceries it could buy a "working family."
How about how many bags of groceries could a working family buy with the raise money going to the our benefactors in state government?

Queen Chrissie, as well as Teddy the Useless in Oregon, do not deserve pay raises at all. In fact, they should consider themselves very fortunate not to be paid what they are worth.
The top officials pay should be based upon how well financially the state is doing. We don't do well, they don't do well.
Another set of irritating commercials go something like this:
"This is the house of a (insert evil corporation here) executive. (show a pic of a nice fancy 7,000 sq. ft house) And this is the house of a "working class" family. (show a modest ranch home). Candidate so and so gave tax breaks to the (insert evil corporation here) executive. Meanwhile, the working class pays four dollars for a gallon of gas, and has seen food prices rise...blah, blah, blah.."
My point here is simply this: Since when did being successful become evil in this country? CEO's and Executives have studied hard paid for a good education, and most have climbed the ladder to be successful. If joe average wants to, he can get an education, to get the better job, to afford the 7,000 sq. ft home. Nothing is keeping him from doing that. The commercials act as though the "working class" (whatever that is.) guy is somehow the victim. Nothing is keeping anyone in this country from becoming a success. Nothing. I challenge any of you to prove otherwise.
Who says wealth is evil? Since when has paying a fair share of the tax burden evil?
It might help to have a little perspective -- maybe you should revisit the tax story of William Buffet and his secretary. Now that's evil.
I'm sure Daniel wouldn't complain one bit if that 39% raise (at taxpayer expense) was given to his servant/wife.

any government employee who enables the invasion in any way, should be required to forfeit their wages and benefits to off-set the cost of the invasion of illegal aliens.
the other option should be deportation or a public hanging.
