Seattle Times writer with witty lines about guns

Supreme Court to scrutinize state, local gun laws
State and local gun laws are in the cross hairs as the Supreme Court prepares for a historic oral argument Tuesday.

In the crosshairs... I don't get it? Oh, because some rifles have scopes with crosshair reticles. That is SO funny and witty. I wish that I was a brilliant newspaper journalist so that I could come up with clever lines like that.

The conservative majority that struck down Washington, D.C.'s handgun ban in 2008 appears poised to stretch the Second Amendment further. The session Tuesday will let justices test-fire arguments in a case in which the reasoning could be as intriguing as the outcome.

For gun owners and lawmakers, McDonald v. City of Chicago presents one bottom line: If the court agrees that the Second Amendment covers state and local governments, as seems likely, some but not all gun restrictions will be blown away.

Blown away... I don't get it...

For constitutional scholars, the court's means may be as important as its ends. To eliminate Chicago's gun ban, court conservatives could end up overturning a 137-year-old precedent that has hindered the expansion of new rights.

Let me explain to Seattle Times writer Michael Doyle a very simple truth. We have a right to keep and bear arms. This is not a "new" right. This is a natural right that our constitution prevents government from infringing upon.

In my world this means:

Background checks = government has no business doing them.

Issuing "licenses" to carry concealed = government has no business doing them.

Restricting capacity, style or cyclic rate of fire = government has no business doing it.

If you want a good example about how the unconstitutional NFA (national firearms act) is the dumbest thing ever:

This firearm has a fake suppressor to keep the barrel over 16" in length because it is a rifle due to it's buttstock.

This is the EXACT SAME FIREARM but since it it has the buttstock removed it is considered a pistol and does not need to be 16" in length.

Now you can purchase an SBR (short barrel rifle) as long as you tithe the government with $200 or if you are better than the rest of us and you work for government you can possess these weapons in your official capacity as "better than citizens."

Um, yeah Miglavs. It's about as funny and and "clever" as some of your "funny" and "clever" lines. Doesn't seem to stop you from hittin' the ol' "publish" button, does it? Are you familiar with the term, "Pot calling the kettle ..." Oh, never mind.

The second amendment if very clear...“ A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
    period.

The right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed. period.

What is the problem? Guns dont kill people...people do. Guns dont kill criminals people do.

Remember spoons did not make Rosie fat...she did.

  4. Gee if this "radical" Supreme Court is going to actually start referring to the Constitution when deciding these cases perhaps they could have a look at the way the 14th amendment is being misused.

Yeah, don't you hate those "funny" and "clever" lines that are neither? Like this one:

HEY JACKASS..GET YOUR GOVERNMENT OFF MY FREEDOM!!

I know I won't get an answer, but I'd love to know: Exactly what is the government preventing Miglavs from doing that he wants to do?

Actually the 2nd Amendment is unclear to a lot of Americans these days. So is the rest of the Bill Of Rights. Hell, they were raised and educated that way. My girlfriends daughter is twelve and spell fatal. The other day she wrote a note for me that was about twelve words in length. Three or 25% of the words were incorrectly spelled. I'll have to look at it again to verify the total words and the number incorrectly spelled.

I can't write without a full cup of coffee.

I wrote: "My girlfriends daughter is twelve and spell fatal."

    I meant:

    twelve and cannot spell fatal.

Statists dont care if kids can spell. Hell, they dont want them to know how to spell, or they would teach spelling, not crap like "The Story of Stuff" and other garbage the statists put out.

I checked the note at lunch. She wrote eleven words and three were misspelled. Typical product of the education system, 27% of the words were misspelled. Don't we have somebody in the messiah's administration who ran Chicago's schools where most of the twelfth graders couldn't read at an eight grade level? Something along those lines. We are fast approaching mexico's level of education. Liberals fuck everything up. Don't worry if they can't read, just make them feel better. That will fix everything.

Liberals fuck everything up? Um, Dave ... hate to break it to you, but those two wars we're up to our eyeballs in and the vast majority of the debt the U.S. is under happened under George W. Bush, and 9/11 happened under his watch, not Clinton's. Be fair ... if 9/11 had happened under "the messiah," you would have been in the street with a pitchfork in one hand and a lighted torch in the other calling for Obama's head on a stick. Yes, Obama is fucking things up (I didn't vote for him, so I don't mind saying so) but Bush gave him a head start on a lot of the big-ticket items. By blaming it all on liberals, you diminish your own credibility. Conservatives are just as skilled at fucking things up as liberals.

You might have some valid points . Except for your use of rather large 4 letter words , keep most people from reading past the first few words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. Just using the word he used. Fine. Replace "F---K with "screw" or "botch."

I will agree with you that the idiot bush spent like a fool. If I remember my US government, the US congress writes the bills. The president signs them into law. Can you let me know how long congress has been run by the democrats? I forget. It's like four or five years isn't it?

I think bush spent along with the democratic congress about five trillion. If I remember correctly, the democratic congress and president have spent four trillion in one year. Am I very far off on these numbers? At that rate, the democratic president and congress will spend about 15 or 16 trillion dollars. I know I'm not as smart as you liberals, but that makes it THREE OR FOUR times what bush spent. Don't forget the dems have run unemployment to ten percent.

Yes, I'm pissed at bush and the republicans for spending like fools. I always have been and always will be. However, the repubs are getting the message. Four years and four trillion dollars late. Better late than never. Why can't the dems get it? They will in November. The dems are dropping like flies.

Now let's get to 911. You have to remember US history. Way back in 1994. That was the first time the WTC was attacked by al queda based in Afghanistan. Wasn't billie the perjurer president then? 911 was planned during clinton's presidency. In other words, billie was too busy with monica to think about killing osama. Blow jobs seemed to be more important. Since bush was president, we have killed more al queada than they killed of us. That is a good thing to me. That is called war.

With your writing, you seem to have a problem with us fighting in Afghanistan? Why is that? Have you forgot what happened on 911 already?

Republicans fuck things up a lot. I will agree with you. Conservatives are supposed to believe in small government, bush is not a conservative. I want small government, low spending and the government out of my way. Our state government just stole my girlfriends Christmans bonus for next year. This state can't stop spending, kinda like the federal government. Our budget increased 10 or 11 percent. We can't that. It was to give government employees raises and benefits and perks for them. I bet I don't get 10 percent better service from them.

Don't confuse republicans with conservatives. I don't want my grand kids being buried in debt. Our debt matches our federal income now. Both are about 14-15 trillion dollars. That is not good.
