Speaking of tax credits

If you've ever given money to a political organization then you're probably receiving their end of year donation requests right about now. That's because Oregon (whether you agree with it or not) offers a polictical tax credit for individuals ($50) and couples ($100) for qualifying donations.

You decide: donate to your favorite interest group or let Teddy K. spend it.

I love Oregon Right to Life, Oregon Family Council, etc but there is one group that I think has accomplished so much and has a huge battle in the coming year: Oregonians for Immigration Reform.

We've shut down the Carousels, shed light on day labor sites, put up a billboard and much more. In 2007 we need to repeal Oregon's sanctuary law, stop drivers licenses (and driving priviledge cards) for illegals, and so much more.

Give it to OFIR to stop illegal immigration or give it to Teddy to spend on illegal aliens. You choose.

"we need to ... stop drivers licenses (and driving priviledge cards) for illegals..."

You know, I think illegal aliens should be able to get an Oregon driver's license. Any Oregon resident, citizen or non-citizen, should be able to. Here's my plan :

    - Add letter codes to the licenses.
    - The codes would identify the person as citizen or non-citizen.
    - If a non-citizen, another letter code would identify the country where they have citizenship.
    - Another letter code would identify what kind of permission they have to be here (visa, green card, or etc.).
    - The license for non-citizens would expire on the date when their visa (or whatever) expires, or in one year, whichever came first.
    - Non-citizen licenses would only be renewable in person.

And so illegal aliens would have licenses with letter codes indicating "non-citizen, no documents".

(Oh, and also, increase the penalties for driving without a valid license.)

Daniel, Thank you for your help and everyone also.
Unlike the open Border people, we do not get paid (they asked us how much we are paid for protesting at the last Rally), we are all volunteer, so your donation is 100% to the cause. i.e. phone lines, mail, printing, paper, Billboards, ads, etc.

We have an opportunity in 2007 to save all of us millions in Tax monies NOT spent on Illegal aliens.
We need money for a Billboard in Portland and to run commercials and let more people know we are here to help (We still get calls everyday from the Salem Billboard, I know I check it).

Our number of members has quintupled since Spring and with more ads we will grow to tens of thousands and then the Politicians can't ignore us any longer.

We all have two commodities-Time and/or Money-If you can give just one-it will make a difference.

  3. Great post! I posted on other worthy causes to donate to and your recommendations are good as well.

Illegals? Democrats need them for all those extra votes! That is why Democrats will ALWAYS stop attempts to have voter ID.

    Calhoun,

Your plan does not make sense at all. Give illegals drivers license and have the expiration date the same as the expiration date on their visas or green cards? If they are here illegally they don't have a visa or a green card.

What on earth are you thinking?

Legal non-citizens' licenses would expire when their visas/green cards expire, or in one year, whichever comes first.

(This might help to prevent people from overstaying their visas.)

Illegal aliens' licenses would expire in one year, and the letter codes on their licenses would show that they are non-citizens, with no documents. (Or sure, make it so that illegals' licenses expire in less than one year.)

Calhon is officially a moron. Providing said illegals with the drivers license is tax money that does not need to be spent on them in the first place. If anyone be it mexican, russian or even canadian you should have no privlages period. What part of your liberal retard strong brain doesn't get it?

  7. I have no problem with legal non-citizens having a license. I have a problem with illegal non-citizens having any permission to drive or do anything at all.

I used Advanced Gain Pro and I got sores on my pecker. Oh, and my pecker shrunk, too. I heard the recipe for Advanced Gain Pro involves dead kittens.

  9. While I don't agree that Calhoun's plan would work for many reasons among them being illegals shouldn't be here at all. I don't think that illegals would apply for a license that identifies them as being here illegally. The ones using fake or fraudulent I.D. would continue to do so. I don't see that calling someone a moron and a liberal retard is of any value to the conversation. Why don't you make some suggestions that might actually be helpful?

But the illegal aliens say they want drivers licenses. So, let's give them drivers licenses. Ones that identify them as illegal aliens.

In the current atmosphere (Bush in the White House, Democrat majority in Congress), immigration laws aren't going to be enforced anytime soon. But, in the future, things may change. And then it may come in handy to have a list of illegal aliens to deport. And with my plan, the data from DMV records would give us a good place to start in putting together that list.

(And calling me a liberal -- that's priceless!)

  11. Calhoun-you made my point. Because, "And then it may come in handy to have a list of illegal aliens to deport. I don't think they would sign up. Much like gun owners don't like the idea of registering guns because then you set up a list for confiscation later. Personally, I agree with them.

And that also raises the question, would any of them sign up for the McCain/Kennedy bill guest worker visas? At some time in the future, the visas could be revoked, and they would get booted.

  13. Calhoun- so right. Bending the rules to accommodate illegals is just nuts. I don't buy into the notion that we need them for any reason except maybe a well controlled seasonal harvesting of crops in a temporary basis. We don't need them to boost our population, introduce diseases that we have eradicated, increase our crime level, or to mow our lawns, or build our houses. We certainly don't need them to eliminate our culture.
There are many things we could do if we had the will and most of them are already on the books. We do need to change the constitution to stop jackpot babies from being given automatic citizenship at birth. We need to bill the Mexican government for the costs incured by this invaders, that includes medical care that is not covered, incarceration costs, and return costs. They may not pay but at least it would show that we are not condoning this invasion.
I like the idea I heard on Lars about if the SSN doesn't match the records then the amount paid in wages is not deductable. This would go a long way in getting the business to pay more attention to their employees records.

You can't stop spitting at Democrats long enough to form the necessary coalitions within the majority party to make a lasting difference, can you? Your efforts toward immigration reform are perhaps the only legitimate gripe you have, but whenever the opposition can so easily link you to the far-right nutcase agenda you habitually tout ... who the hell do you expect to pay attention?

In fact, you make it damn difficult for those of us willing to help with your effort to curb this national abuse. I'd be ashamed to link this site to a legitimate effort to curb this illegal alien invasion. Come on boys, swallow your spit - and get with the program. You can either heckle the teacher, or teach! Which is it?

OFIR had their chance in the state legislature. Now that the D's have gained their window of opportunity has closed.

  17. You know, I really get sick of this attitude that business should enforce government laws. If an SS number doesn’t match up with a name, how the hell is the business supposed to know that? Is the government going to notify the business? Ok, so after notification the business has to fire the employee? Great, is the government also going to indemnify the business against back wage law suits when half these guys get reinstated due to a government screw up that misidentified them as a non match?

Federal laws require federal enforcement. If the person is identified as a non-match, have the government show up and arrest them.

Glad to hear that the amount of members is increasing.
If you were to send flyers out to some parts of Salem, you would probably get a lot more money and members.
    Good luck in your efforts.
