Tell Senator Smith "NO" to Gonzales

For those of you who have been living in a cave (Osama, you smell like a camel, just give it up) there is an opening on the United States Supreme Court which decides important matters such as: will the government allow you to continue to live in "your" home and how old do you have to be to kill a baby by sucking his/her brains out.

Therefore, the selection of our exalted supreme masters who serve on this court is very important. That is why I am asking Senator Smith to oppose a nomination of Alberto Gonzales. During the election President Bush pledge to appoint a "strict constructionist" to the court.

A "strict constructionist" is someone who believes that a judge interprets laws and the constitution instead of making laws. Generally speaking this type of judge would not find that the constitution guarantees a drug addict "the right" to clean needles paid for by your tax dollars.

Alberto Gonzales is not constructionist.

While serving on the Texas Supreme Court Gonzales delivered an opinion for the majority finding the "right" of a minor child to have an abortion because she was "mature" enough to kill her baby. Dissenting judge Priscilla Owens was recently confirmed to the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals.
See case: IN RE JANE DOE

While I disagree with conferring an adult status on minor children because of perceived "maturity" I think that it is absolutely reprehensible to allow a minor to make a decision to abort a baby without having to discuss it with her parents and legal guardians. I do not believe that the United States Constitution or the Texas law requiring parental notification required Gonzales to allow this child to have an abortion but that it was his personal opinion on the matter that guided his decision. We do not need that on the Supreme Court.

Gonzales also supports affirmative action (the practice of promoting one race over another) and has garnered the support of racist groups such as the National Council for 'The Race' and has wholeheartedly accepted their support. NCLR chose to endorse Gonzales for AG because he "agreed to review the Administration's positions on sentencing reform" which is a fancy way of saying that they would allow criminals to get out of prison sooner and he "articulated some reservations about the practice of 'deputizing' local police to enforce immigration laws."

Clearly illegal immigration is a problem in this country (I won't go over all the reasons why right now, feel free to see previous posts) and Gonzales wants to deny law enforcement a tool to combat these criminals.
See: NCLR ENDORSES NOMINATION OF ALBERTO GONZALES FOR ATTORNEY GENERAL

On March 8, 2005 Gonzales gave a speech to his "people" at the National Council of 'The RaCapitolitol Awards Gala. During this speech Gonzales said that "I am humbled and grateful to stand on the shoulders of groups like La Raza." (La Raza = The Race) At this same event Chairwomen Janet Murguia said that: "We are going to put our people first."
See: Remarks of Attorney General Alberto Gonzales at NCLR Capital Awards Gala on March 8, 2005

The issues relating to the above subject that could come before the Supreme Court are numerous. From affirmative action to English-only legislationtion and the rights of illegal immigrants. We do not need a judge who considers a single race to be his "people" sitting on the court.

It is for these reasons that I am urging you to immediatelyatly contact Senator Gordon Smith and tell him to oppose Alberto Gonzales if nominated to the high court. Don't be afraid to call/email him multiple times, you are his boss and you pay his salary. His job is to listen to YOU!

  4. While Gonzales has not been nominated yet, this is an effort to pre-empt that from happening. (I don't want to see a nominee lose in the senate, I would prefer that Senators quietly tell the President that Gonzales does not have their support)

Pro-abortion, pro-illegal alien, and he doesn't think that your minor daughter should have to tell you if she wants an abortion. Not my kind of judge!

Contact Senator Smith and then check out on this same subject!
