Sunday Night Parody

Afghan Court Dismisses Case vs. Alleged Christian Convert
KABUL, Afghanistan — A court on Sunday dismissed the case against an Afghan man facing possible execution for converting from Islam to Christianity, officials said, paving the way for his release.

NOTE: FOXNews is at the above link, the text below was written by someone at NBC or The Oregonian.

However, in a bizzare move it appears that the 9th circuit court of appeals is preparing to take up this case under the "we make up rules as we go along" clause of the United States Constitution.

"We absolutely have jurisdiction in this case" said Chief Judge Mary Schroeder. "This matter will come before the court."

It is widely believed that the appellate court will rule against the Afghan man and sentence him to death in a California prison. One legal expert for the media said, "Clearly you can't have a Christian in the middle of a Muslim country, it's just not multicultural."

"Not only should he be sentenced to death for being a Christian, he should also be charged with various hate crimes for talking about his beliefs in public" according to Roey Thorpe of Basic Rights Oregon. "Until people learn to be tolerant we will continue to prosecute them."

However, not everyone agrees. "What are they talking about?" asked one San Fransisco resident. "What has happened to my country?"

Clearly a divisive issue, we can only hope that Republicans will be bi-partisan enough to not stand in the way of justice.

Saying in a letter to the FISHWRAPPER that they prefer this "news source" and look what happens.
It will be NUMBER 1 in "LIBBERVILLE/PDX.

    * 26 March 2006: Despite our “wartime status,” al Jazeera, the Arabic television channel known for disseminating anti-US propaganda including messages from Osama bin Laden and other al Qaeda leaders, U.S. prisoners of war, beheadings and hostage videos, expects to launch an English-language channel inside the U.S. sometime this summer. Wadah Khanfar, the managing director of Arabic satellite channel Aljazeera, has been appointed director-general of a newly formed entity, Aljazeera Satellite Network.

Founded in 1996, Al-Jazeera is well known as a dangerous platform for terrorists and an anti-American propaganda, has faced criticism from the United States over its broadcasting of footage and messages from terrorists. The Arabic station routinely broadcasts bloody images of civilians killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, consistently condemning every action by the U.S. and coalition forces and serving as a catalyst for recruitment into Islamic jihad. Now, they will be bringing their propaganda directly to the United States – apparently with our permission. In advance of its U.S. debut, Al-Jazeera International (AJI) has signed such mainstream talent as British interviewer David Frost, former "Nightline" correspondent Dave Marash, and ex-CNN anchor Riz Khan. AJI expects to reach more than 40 million homes at its debut -including 1 million in the United States. Al-Jazeera has a strong image as the voice of the Arab world, and it's been extremely vile toward Americans.

According to the proposed business model, AJI will have broadcast centers in Doha; Washington; London; and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Marash and Khan will work out of Washington - Marash as weekday anchor and Khan as host of an interactive show. Frost, will be stationed in London. The planned broadcasting schedule will involve 11 hours from Doha, five each from London and Washington, and three from Kuala Lumpur. The Washington segments will run from 1 to 2 p.m. and from 4 to 8 p.m. Eastern time.

Absent of any successful protest by Americans, it appears that AJI will become a channel on various satellite providers.

  2. the fishwrap is set to publish a new dictionary dedicated to updated definitions and uses of spanish obscenities. The purpose of this rather lengthy tome is to acquaint us "gringos" with the various epithets hurled our way by the lovely folks who are stealing our taxes. I sent them a heartfelt thankyou note, along with a list of words they might include.

It's kind of extraordinary to hear christians banging against intolerance of christians in other countries, at the same time that these very same people are arguing that the United States was founded as a "christian" nation and is therefore justified of its own intolerance.

Pick an argument and stick to it.

It's extraordinary the defenses that are made in the United States for Christians to believe and worship in freedom, and the complete lack of defense for the same tolerance for other's beliefs.

    Dear tolerent ANON:

When your head is removed, and a video is played on the new "reality" show coming to Libberville...do let us know the correct air time ASAP, I don't want to miss your tolerant display for all the rest of us.

You completely missed my point which I think was worth a discussion, but I will respond to your reply:

The world's Greatest Nation, the United States of America for whom I would fight to the death to defend stands as a nation of laws, which is why ultimately equality for the minority is defended as rightful.

Historically we have seen laws writ against some by the majority, but Thomas Jefferson opined that to be just, majority decisions must be in the best interest of all the people, not just one faction.

Stating a problem from an opposite perspective in order to make a point is a valid way to make an argument - as I was doing. But your attempt at irony proves my point - you aren't defending my rights, you're saying if I don't defend yours (and I do, BTW, whole-heartedly) it will lead to dire consequences to myself.

My point is that you can't defend some people's rights (Christians), without defending all people's rights (Americans) - and be authentic.

I think that I defend all American's rights. Unless you are talking about gays "right" to marry or some such nonsense. There is no "right" to that.

Interesting, I've never committed a felony (or gotten it in jail or whatever it is you said about your record) -- and you have more rights than me.

I support the right of all Americans to equality, not just the elite few.

7 yrs ago, I was on a business trip in Sacromento, CA.

I was listening to a local talk show(he was a rightwinger) he had a LATINO advocate on...his words still chill me. (as close as I can get them) "when we are the majority here, "WE WILL PUSH YOU OUT, AND TAKE BACK WHAT YOU STOLE!"

A few months later the US CENUS office said that Latino's are now the majority in CA.

El Plan Espiritual de Aztlán sets the theme that the Chicanos (La Raza de Bronze) must use their nationalism as the key or common denominator for mass mobilization and organization. Once we are committed to the idea and philosophy of El Plan de Aztlán, we can only conclude that social, economic, cultural, and political independence is the only road to total liberation from oppression, exploitation, and racism. Our struggle then must be for the control of our barrios, campos, pueblos, lands, our economy, our culture, and our political life. El Plan commits all levels of Chicano society - the barrio, the campo, the ranchero, the writer, the teacher, the worker, the professional - to La Causa. "

". Those who place themselves in the front ranks for their people do so out of love and carnalismo. Those institutions which are fattened by our brothers to provide employment and political pork barrels for the gringo will do so only as acts of liberation and for La Causa. For the very young there will no longer be acts of juvenile delinquency, but revolutionary acts.

There is no plan for compromise, there is no "conflict resolution.
