Ouch

Well... this was not a good election for me. But there are some things to keep in mind:

1) we still have a veto pen in the White House
2) many democrats ran on Republican principles
3) Lincoln Chaffee lost... that's a plus in my book
4) the nutty left got slapped by Lieberman
5) a couple more states passed traditional marriage amendments
6) we still have the Senate... (timestamp: 9:53pm PST)

I wonder why the Washington County numbers haven't been updated since 8:20pm?

There is *no way* that a voter turnout of 14% is accurate.

Who gives a shit about the White House and an election in CT? Say hello to Speaker Commie, I mean, Pelosi. And Oregon has just had something paralleling a socialist revolution, as far as I can tell. The disparity in the voting blocks is HUGE this year. I have lost hope in this state, not that I ever had much hope in it in the first place. I think this is the final blow for me. Time to leave the state.

Haven't seen a political ass-whooping like this in a long while! Daniel, Senate is probably gone too.

Suck on it!

I expect the Senate to go bye bye.

This is what happens when GOP senators play "gang of 14" with democrats...

Bruce-

I understand that anon 11:41's quote is completely out of context, but how unchristian of you.

Anon 11:00-
You're leaving the state over political issues. That's sad. You should stay, or move somewhere in rural Oregon. It's a beautiful state.

The reason the Republicans lost isn't because of any "socialist revolution." I think you guys are pretty far to the right. I think the country is tired of selfishness as an ideology.

People who read the Bible read love thy neighbor, not screw your neighbor because you want more for yourself.

Daniel,

Whatever you need to tell yourself to feel better. This was an asswhooping in a half. Oh, yeah say goodbye to your anti-immigrant garbage stinking up the U.S. House.

Anon 11:00,

Don't let the door hit you in the arse. Your trailer was about ready to fall down anyways.

Anon 11:41

Neither have I. Pretty funny, huh?

Gully,

You could be correct--I doubt it.

Bruce,

It is so funny. We are all laughing at you clowns being sent out. As for "Hell", well...we all know you are in your own right...about... NOW!

If George Bush and his cronies and toadies are capable of learning a lesson, the lesson is this :

If you ignore the will of the majority, you won't get the votes of the majority.

Bush gave us the finger, choosing to make foreign criminals his constituency. Hope he's happy.

The whole world can sigh in relief! The days of abuse and opression in hands of religious fanatics are coming to an end. Coming up, the age of reason! This is a great day for all human kind. I think I can see peace on the horizon...

Malkin's spin is that that conservatism didn't lose, the GOP did. To some degree, that's true. I think independent voters ran with what were good conservative ideas and repudiated the ones that were a bum deal. Yes, the GOP still does have a veto pen. It almost sounds Bush is about to become the GOP version of Tom Daschle! America never ceases to amaze me, especially in CT. Lamont was backed by a hard liberal element and he was defeated by an independent who is a good man and good Senator.

Yes, Bush still has the veto pen, but why would he use it to veto the Democrats' open-borders agenda? He's on their side of this issue!

Well the Communist/Democrat party yesterday fulfilled their campaign mantra, "Take Back Congress 2006", but it wasn't so much a campaign to take back as Take Over. To take back would be to restore something lost and we lost a Congress that revered and followed the Constitution a long time ago. The Communist/Democrat Party has one goal…a Communist America. Yesterday was a win for the Communist/Democrat party and a loss for America.

That said: If the Republican’s had retained their majority, restoration of a Congress that follows the Constitution wouldn’t have happened either, but at least Republican Party’s goal isn’t to create a Communist America. The sad part about that is that too many Republicans “go along to get along” and don’t offer much resistance to the Communist/Democrats.

Don’t get me wrong; maintaining a Republican majority would have been better than the alternative of having the Communist/Democrat party in charge.

Locally, we have 4 more years of Socialist Tax & Gouge me and the promise of more taxes. Ted will awake from his first 4 year nap till he gets a Sales tax, a tax on your car insurance premiums and any more of YOUR money he can get his hands on to over fund schools, bloat the State Government and provide more taxpayer paid services to illegal aliens. What a guy.

But the people have “Spoken” including the illegal aliens and Oregonians will now have to bend over and grab the ankles. That’s what it means to be “Blue Oregon.”

Tim - you're a moron. You just don't get it.

Anonymous said...

Actually Tim is right on the money and Anon 7:39, you're blind.

Yay. Go Communism!

Anonymous said...

A vote for a Democrat is a vote for a Communist? Democrats want to turn the U.S. into the next U.S.S.R.?

I disagree. If you look at political ideology, Democrats hug the center along with the GOP. Under Clinton we really didn't head for complete state control of private industry. And Speaker Commie?

On the surface, you know how this looks, don't you? When you're basically calling the new Speaker a female version of Khruschev, it is not only silly, but it looks like immature baiting and fearmongering due to an acute case of sour grapes.

A short message to all the libs who are gloating over their "win" yesterday: You shuld have been a bit more careful in what you wished for, because now you are going to get it --- right in the shorts!

Anonymous said...

Scottiebill: Now we're going to get what, exactly?

Anonymous said...

Scottiebill - Why do you put win in quotes? Do you only believe in the democratic process if it yields a republican victory? How childish! This is the most decisive political statement by an American electorate in a long time. Grow up. Take it like man.

Anonymous said...

Scottiebill- the reason you lost last night is because the nation woke up and realized that you are crazy. Utterly goofball. So far to the right I would call it whacky.
I'm just glad your scare tactics yesterday to keep Americans from voting didn't work. That's the only way you guys can win, by cheating.
I for one am so excited to have the first female speaker of the house in the history of America!!!

"4) the nutty left got slapped by Lieberman"

I'm hardly a Lieberman fan, but I took some pleasure seeing him thump Ned Lamont. Any candidate who surrounds himself with the likes of Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and Maxine Waters must lose. Just say NO to race baiters.

Anonymous said...

Yeah! All the black people are scary!

That's all you got? Leiberman?
Hahahahahhaahahahaha! Losers!

Anonymous said...

Can't we all just get along! EH EH EH
hAPPY DAYS ARE HERE AGAIN!!!!
GOODBYE CORRUPTION...

Anonymous said...

You left-wingers are freaking nuts with your gloating and your reasoning. Shut the hell up and go back to olive.com. You people make me sick. You aren't looking out for me. Most of you are a bunch of losers looking for some kind of self-affirmation in the form of political power. Blow off

Anonymous said...

sorry anon 9:24 - we've been listening to your sanctmonious bullshit for years now. if you can't take it, maybe you should come up with a new late-night hobby besides political bullshitting...er...blogging. I hear barely legal gay porn is in vogue among conservatives these days. you might try that.

Scottiebill said...

Anon 10:44: You libs are going to get exactly what you wished for. Is that too hard for even you to understand?

I won't even dignify those other slurs with an answer.

Anonymous 2:32 said "GOODBYE CORRUPTION!" Apparently, he has forgotten, conveniently, about Harry Reid's corrupt land dealings in Nevada and his neglecting to report those dealings to the Senate, a violation of the disclosure laws of the Senate which is also a Title 18 violation. He could go to the slammer if and when he is finally convicted.

If that has extremely negative connotations, then yeah, it is.
