You think that criminals would lie?

Senate Republicans Seek Support for Revised Citizenship Bill
Senate Republicans unveiled revised immigration legislation Wednesday night clearing the way for legal status and eventual citizenship for many of the estimated 11 million men, women and children living in the United States unlawfully.

Majority Leader Bill Frist outlined the proposal after efforts at a bipartisan compromise faltered earlier in the day and the Senate teetered between accomplishment and gridlock on the most sweeping immigration bill in two decades.

A compromise between illegal and legal? Either you are or you aren't.

Republican officials said the GOP plan would divide illegal immigrants into three categories:

Those who had been in the country the longest, more than five years, would not be required to return to their home country before gaining legal status.

Illegal immigrants in the United States less than five years but more than two would be required to go to a border point of entry, briefly leave and then be readmitted to the United States.

Illegal immigrants in the United States less than two years would be required to leave the country and join any other foreign residents seeking legal entry.

In what various Fishwrappers are going to call my entrepenurial spritit I'm going to offer to lie for every illegal alien who wants stay here. For a mere $100 I will attest that you have been mowing my grass for 5 years. That's right.

(Read like it's one of those accident attorney commercials)

So when you go in front of the new HUMONGOUS beuaracracy that is created to somehow verify how long you have been here, you can count of my signature.

Thousands of entrepenures just like me are hoping and praying that they don't in fact use the honor system to verify because really, we are perfectly willing to lie for a few dollars.

I mean sure, some people will do the lying for free. Spouses, employers, friends, neighbors, Ann Martens and such but when it comes time to lie on your verification forms or in front of the verification tribunal or whatever you need a paid professional.

So when they actually figure out how they are going to verify how long someone who they have no record of being here has actually been here, give me a call. I'm as willing to exploit you as the farmers are.

This time here issue is just all samantics. The majority of those living here now will be on the path to citizenship.

You all should be praising the Senate for coming up with something like this. Afterall, you want legal immigration and this is a way to create legal immigrants out of those you say are "illegal".

Good for the U.S. Senate.

Simple solution to this problem. No amnesty AT ALL until the border is sealed. Choose your method, I don't care. Remember 1986? We don't need a repeat of that, and that is what this is. Oh, sure, the border patrol will be "beefed up," but in 20 years, we will be talking about another 10-20 million new illegal aliens.

Geniuses in government, huh?

Roger, you are a dolt. So, you honestly think it is ok for these border-dodgers to jump to the head of the line when there are millions waiting world-wide to come here legally?

Would you prefer no borders? I mean, where do you draw the line? I don't think you are willing to draw one. Probably afraid of "offending" someone.

You idiots are going to kill this country.

Well, if your concerned about people jumping ahead in line of those "waiting" then maybe you would be willing to give up your seat on this train to them? If not call your Senator and ask them to pass some legislation to expedite their processing. Quite quiping about people you don't care about anyways.

As for the border, there should be border controls but these people are already here so quite wasting time on that illogical argument.

As for me worrying about offending someone, oh not at all. I am enjoying offending a Nativist like you.

Oh I almost forgot. As for us "idiots killing this country". It looks like your President Bush, the Republicans and their Culture of Corruption are already doing a great job of that. An influx of another million immigrants might be a god send to water down the damage they have already done.

Now you see why I keep blaming the Senate "maverick" so-called "Republicans" for everything.

Flush them out!

If we could replace the "7 dwarfs" from the filibuster compromise, plus Specter, Voinivich, and Trent "I will be revenged" Lott with 10 Tom Tancredo clones, this whole discussion would be moot and the Congress would be able to actually produce conservative bills for George "what's a veto?" Bush to sign.

Rog dog-it's all semantics to you isn't it. Break the law if you don't like it. Borders, we don't need no stinkin' borders. Life begins when we want it to. Save Tookie, after all he wrote children's books while in prison.
If you put any value in being an American you wouldn't be so eager to give that gift away. Obviously you haven't contributed to the greatness of this country in any way so you don't appreciate it slipping away.

Break the law if you don't like it.

Funny you say that. Your President Bush and Republican Party believe that. To them it is a work in progress.

Borders, we don't need no stinkin' borders.

Now if only it were borders to keep Conservatives out of the country.

Life begins when we want it to.

Yeah, like you religious conservatives believe: "life begins at conception and ends at birth".

If you put any value in being an American you wouldn't be so eager to give that gift away.

It is a great gift so why not be a good Christian and give it?

Obviously you haven't contributed to the greatness of this country in any way so you don't appreciate it slipping away.

Almost a decade ago I made a pledge to myself, my family and my friends. Now I wake up every morning and work towards getting rid of the far-right conservative scum that is litering both our U.S Congress and State Congress. My contribution is getting that kind shunned from the public square, getting real Americans elected. In addition, I have dedicated my life to illuminating the corruption and un-american ideals of what is the American Conservative. That is my contribution to America. Getting rid of them one at a time. Tom DeLay baby, Tom DeLay.

Daniel -- I've never known a gang member before. I was wondering whether you could enlighten me as to what one does when so occupied. Deal drugs? Shoot people?

Roger and sheep,
I don’t know how many of you are Americans, but I disagree with your opinions. I believe your thought process is impaired. However, with that said, there are millions of Americans, including myself, that would fight to the death if necessary, to protect your constitutional right to think and say whatever you want. Does the Mexican government and the Mexican citizens worry about your rights? I just wish you cared as much about the American people and our land. Don’t worry though, if things get scary we won’t tell them where you’re hiding.

RogDog-thanks for setting me straight. For a minute there I was beginning to think I knew what a patriot was. While you finish your kool-aid I will tell you that I agree that the political options have never been so pathetic. I would like to be rid of all the unethical, slimey, two-faced bastards in office. But don't delude yourself that the problem lies solely in the conservatives. You're being sold out right along with the rest of us.

Roger, you are a dumbass. Bush is your President just as much as Clinton was my President. THEY are OUR presidents. And I see you couldn't really address my lone point about legal immigrants waiting in line. Helluva comeback there, man.

But fear not. We live in two different countries. I don't think we are unified in anything and there certainly is no national American identity in this country. There are many people like you. You know, those who are more concerned with ILLEGAL aliens than with those lawfully here, whether alien or native. I'd explain it to you, but I don't think it would matter as you clearly don't care. You are a political idealogue. A political dolt. I've wasted enough time on you already.

Criminals lie? NOOO! Do you really think they would stoop to lying? When they are so truthful about everything else - such as having Social Security numbers that are really theirs? That they came here legally? That they actually have the right to vote? NO! they wouldn't lie. No way!

My ex-husband got the 1986 IRCA amnesty and it was a miserable failure. We actually saw a criminal who got the amnesty, a bigamist and his bigamous "wife".

They said that it would be a one time only thing and that there would never be another. They also said that there would no longer be such a thing as illegal alien criminals and illegal immigration as the new employer penalties and document verification would prevent any illegal alien criminals from getting hired. They said it would put an end to illegal alien criminals. Now we have 11+ million illegal alien criminals.

The amnesty part went through but the enforcement part was never carried out. Enforcement was prevented by the pro-illegal alien politicians in Congress after they agreed to enforce the laws against illegal alien criminals...these corrupt politicians just plain lied and the anti-illegal alien politicians and the American people were BETRAYED big time.

I didn't mind one amnesty as they said it would never happen again. Now another and another and another, when will it end?

The current crop of illegal alien criminals all came rushing into this country when the 1986 amnesty was granted.

Now because of the 1986 IRCA amnesty, and corrupt, lying politicians, we have another big group of illegal alien criminals DEMANDING amnesty, but it will NEVER happen. We Americans were fooled one time, but never again.

If the 1986 law had been enforced as it was supposed to have been, we would not have this big group of illegal alien criminals today demanding another amnesty.
