This cartoon first appeared a year ago on May 11, 2004, when the video of Nick Berg's murder was released and much of the media were, and remained in, full Abu Ghraib mode.

Um, we expect the terrorists to use torture, Americans are SUPPOSED to be above that shit. It's NEVER NEVER NEVER OKAY for the US to use torture and the media was right to cover it as they did. It was a lot more than one person after all.
So we should have one-sided coverage? I truly believe that the many media outlets are actively rooting against our country. They want to report the bad news. They want to show pictures of Arabs (or anyone for that matter) burning American flags.
It makes liberals feel better about themselves when they see that other people hate America as much as they do.

I'm guessing you never watched any of the beheading videos. I'm also guessing you never watched any of the videos of Hussein's regime torturing his people - chopping off their tongues, breaking their arms, tossing them off 4 story buildings... You ought to look up the definition of 'torture'. Why don't you make your way over to google and search for "iraq beheading videos" - you'll find the dozens of movies clips where these 'insurgents' slowly saw off the heads of innocent people, pausing mid-way through to enjoy the sound of a man screaming through his windpipe.
Abu Ghraib was not anything even close to torture. Those soldiers behavior was certainly unprofessional and inappropriate, but to call it torture only shows you don't understand the meaning of the word.
It was said, here, that "We support Israel. They hate us. That is it."
That's it??? Isn't that an awfully limited world view? Where is our understanding of history, culture, economics, and politics?
Surely we must rise above such simplistic characterizations of what are truly difficult problems in the world! The truth is, these are problems that vey few people are qualified to really comment on with any insight. But I can sure recognize an unjust characterization when I see one! :-)
